Abstract

In the information and knowledge society of the 21st century, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are instruments capable of promoting social, cultural, economic, political and educational reconfigurations. Among ICTs, there are Comics, as media cultural resources that provide the approach to discussions about relevant themes in school environments and in society. Thus, this article asks: how can Comics contribute to the dissemination of architectural and urban themes in the context of cities and Heritage Education?. It is based on the hypothesis that comics can be enhancer tools that contribute in a playful way to the aspect of education and understanding of issues related to Architecture, Urbanism and Heritage Education. Thus, the general objective is to analyze the diffusion of themes related to Architecture, Urbanism and Heritage Education in the narratives of comics in their educational aspects. To this end, a brief bibliographic research was carried out regarding comics and their potential as a didactic-pedagogical resource and as an instrument to encourage reading; and a documentary research of Batman and Superman comics and stories such as “A Contract with God”, “Belle's Dream” and “The Alley of the Rosary”, analyzing the thematic approaches in the narratives of the comics and their interlocutions with the scientific literature, as: Pesavento (1999, 2007), Choay (2003), Harouel (1990), Faris e Dunhan (1948), John (2012), IPHAN (2012, 2022), Palhares (2008), Debary (2010), between others. From this, it was found that comics are potential resources for the dissemination of narrative representations and for the encouragement of reflections and educational debates on important themes in school and society.
